Nature Republic Essential Tree Mask Sheet Bamboo

I can't really remember how much does it price, I believed it's RM 5.90. The mask is made in Korea and available in Malaysia in Nature Republic stores. I got mine from Nature Republic, The Spring, Kuching.

I love the packaging. Simple and attractive.

Back of the packet. Sorry for bad picture. The instruction comes in Korean and English language.

Basically this mask is infused with bamboo extract to protect against pollution and reduce stress. It also contains aloe vera extract, Althaea Rosea extract, elastin, collagen, hyaluronic acid etc. This mask also contains two paraben derivatives.

The mask sheet is rather thick which means it hold more liquid. It's not irritating and feels soft on the face.

This face mask is almost perfect when it comes to fitting. It fits on my face nicely. The flaps for the eyes also is a very nice touch. The only thing that I would change is too have the nose flap a little larger so that it would cover my nose better. All in all, it's great. It doesn't slide off my face after I put in on, so I don't have to lie down when I want to use this mask.

Even tho I didn't put this mask inside fridge prior to application, it feels cool on my face. The 30 minutes during application is really calming. This mask soothes not only my skin, but also helps to relax my mind.

There a lot of formula left inside the packet (total of 23ml inside the packet). So I pat it on my face after I removed the mask.

The main reason I bought this mask was so that I could get Nature Republic paper bag. Why I want the paper bag? Because of smexy Rain. *giggle*
Rain paper bag.

Conclusion: The mask left my skin soft and supple after. I really enjoy this, so I'll definitely repurchase it again and again. Highly recommend.

How Long Does E.L.F. Brigthening Eye Color Last Applied Over E.L.F Eyeshadow Primer? | NYX, ELF, Eve's Pearl & CS 33% - 55% discounts spree!

Very long.

EOTD using Teal Dream palette over Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
Before - 10 am

in the mean time
  • went to lab
  • had lunch
  • went to mini post office, walking under the sun at 2pm, sweat a lot.
  • post parcels.
  • waiting for bus
  • went back to the lab
  • shop some groceries
  • nomming some chipsmore
and~
After - 5.30pm. After 7.5 hours, the eyeshadow look as good as in before picture.

This is another picture taken approximately 10 hours after the eyeshadow (Butternut palette) first applied. I don't have the before picture. You can see that the eyeshadow still look vibrant.
Before I take this before, I had sweat and gone through rain when I was looking for fertilizer at the weekend market.

In reviews from E.L.F. website, lot of people say that this primer comparable to Urban Decay Potion Primer. I didn't have UDPP. Still, I find this primer rock! It slightly pigmented, so it even out pigmentation on my eyelid. I did not apply foundation or foundation on my lids whenever I used this primer.

It have a faint scent, I'm not sure what it smells like. The texture feels slightly greasy when applied and dries quickly to matte texture. You don't need a lot to cover whole lid, so tube would last for quite some time.

I got this from LYN for RM15. I'll definitely repurchase (just recently I join a spree and order back-ups for RM9.90 per tube). Highly recommended.

  • Oh ya, for today is the last day for E.L.F. 55% spree, closing time for the spree is at 11 pm sharp. visit this LYN thread to place your order. Besides that, there are also NYX 50% spree that ends in 28th Nov 11pm, Eve Pearl 40-55% spree for selected items that ends on the 29th, and Coastal Scents 33% spree that also ends on the 29th. Visit this thread for more information http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1077916.

  • Batch C of this ELF 50% spree is over. But Batch D open soon on 30th Nov. I bought a lot of stuff here. Hehehe. Visit this thread for more information http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1634088/

p/s: this is not advertisement. I'm just recommending spree organisers that I trust.

OMG!!! Reincarnation of Freddie. He sounds a lot like Freddie Mercury.

Swatch: L.A. Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette Tease | More Giveaway!

Swatch with (above) and without (below) flash

The pink color is the least chalky and the easiest to blend in Tease Palette

The colors are nice, however, once the supa shimmery top layer of the eyeshadow removed, we're left with chalky eyeshadow that hardly blend. I'm not impressed. Will not repurchase.

GIVEAWAY, YAY!

You gotta love this blog if you're a bargain hunter, lot's of her posts make me drool. Reviews in this blog also awesome, I love how she grade the product.

Review and FOTD: L.A. Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette Mesmerize

Mesmerize is my second L.A. Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette. You can find review for Soiree tagged ' L A Colors'. The casing and everything else pretty much same. However, I find that Mesmerize is less pigmented and less shimmery than Soiree. The Mesmerize shades is pretty much the opposite of Soiree. The colors, beige, green, purple, blue and grey, are muted colors.

Regarding texture, all the eyeshadow feels chalky, especially purple. The purple one also is the one that is least pigmented. I feel bad about that since it look lovely in pan. Mesmerize palette is harder to blend compared to Soiree.

Just like Soiree, top layer of the eyeshadow are much more shimmery, so for this review, I removed the top layer using cotton pad.

Without flash. This palette is not as pigmented Soiree.

With flash. This palette also not as shimmery as Soiree.

Since Mesmerize is not that pigmented, I think this palette is okay for everyday use. The eyeshadow applied over E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. Will using UDPP instead would make the color show up more vibrant?

Beige in the inner corner, purple in the middle and blue in the outer corner blended into crease. Grey and green lined under eye.
When I first bought this palette, I have high expection for Mesmerize because of the lovely shade. However the poor texture and pigmentation is such a big turn off that I'm quite disappointed. I wouldn't not repurchase any of the L.A. Colors palette as I find E.L.F Brightening Color suits me better.

FOTD

I applied the BB cream thinner than in Soiree review FOTD, and I noticed the blemishes much more visible here.

Skin79 Hot Pink BB cream, E.L.F. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Black, E.L.F. Essential Clarifying Pressed Powder in Honey, E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer (not in pic), Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof in Very Black, Silky Girl Blusher Honeywood, L.A Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette Mesmerize, Clinique High Impact Honey Blush lipstick, Nivea Lip Care Rose Velvet.

Review and FOTD: L.A. Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette Soiree | Productrater Sigma Holiday Sigmax Brush Set Giveaway!

In this post I going to review L.A. Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette in Soiree. The palette comes in sleek thin plastic case with transparent lid. The applicator that comes with the palette is okay as long as you don't wash it. I tried to wash it, and the sponges come off.

The palette eyeshadow is finishes obviously shimmery metallic. Top layer of the eyeshadow are much more shimmery, so for this review, I removed the top layer using cotton pad. So the swatches below made from the eyeshadow lower layer.

The colors in this palette are grey, light blue, pink, blue and purple.

Without flash. The colors in this palette are very vibrant, only one swipe needed to reach the swatches intensity.

With flash, here you can see, even after the eyeshadow top layer removed, it's still shimmery(metallic)

The price are obviously a big plus, it's a good value since the eyeshadow are very pigmented. However, I noticed that these eyeshadow doesn't blend well. IMO, it works better alone. As comparison, E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color, like Luxe, Ivy, Blue Moon and many others blends better.

I think it doesn't blend well because the formulation is somewhat chalky. This palette need good eyeshadow primer to work. Overall, this product is decent.

I used four out five color in the palette today.

Grey in the inner corner, pink in the middle and purple in the outer corner blended into crease. Blue lined under eye.
FOTD

Products that I used today, Skin79 Hot Pink BB cream, E.L.F. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Black, E.L.F. Essential Clarifying Pressed Powder in Honey, Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof in Very Black, E.L.F. Essential Blusher in Flushed, L.A. Colors Metallic Eyeshadow Palette in Soiree. E.L.F. Essential Lipstick in Posh, Nivea Lip Care Rose Velvet, E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer (not in picture).

Lately I couldn't be bothered to cover my under eye circle. It doesn't look so bad in the picture above. I guess the BB cream does slightly conceal imperfections.
Sorry for the annoying smug face, but this picture shows the blusher, eyeshadow and lipstick color better.

Difference between different batches of E.L.F. Essential Blending Eye Brush and All Made Up, Beauty Ambition and Princesa Addiction Giveaway

In this post I'm gonna show the difference of the three E.L.F. Essential Blending Eye Brush that I got from 3 separate sprees.
From left to right, older to newer batch. Batch #00128, #00407 and #00618.

From left to right: Batch #00128, #00407 and #00618.
Batch #00128 have shorter handle compare to later batches. Batch #00618 is a tad shorter than batch #00407. The ferrule is about the same length.

From left to right: Batch #00128, #00407 and #00618.
#00618 bristles is shorter and more rounded than both batch #00128 and #00407.
#00128 have the fluffiest bristles while #00407 bristles are the longest.

From left to right: Batch #00128, #00407 and #00618.
#00618 is also less dense than both batch #00128 and #00407.

Even though the latest batch that I got is a little shorter and less dense, however it is still fluffy enough for blending. The changes makes this brush suits smaller eyes better. Yay!

All three brushes sheds few strands and stop after two washes. If you haven't got this brush, go get it! If you already have one, get some more!

[EDIT] Few days after I'd done this post and scheduled for posting, I found out that E.L.F. introduced a new eye crease brush in the Essential and it look very similar to my #00618 blending brush (the handle indicate that it's a blending). E.L.F. is known not to have stringent quality control (did they actually have it?). My new blending brush could actually be an eye crease brush, I could only confirm once I got the new brush to compare.

Marie a la Mode Giveaway

Until I started my own giveaway, I always have the impression that people who join giveaway are opportunistic. Now, that I have my own giveaway, I started to see that those people are giving support to the blog. I think that is awesome.

Obviously this post is made as entries to the giveaway contest I'm joining. But I don't simply join giveaway. I will read the blog for at least 3 pages/15 posts before I decide to follow the blog. As I mentioned in previous post, I love blog with wall of words, and wall of words usually means thoughts have been given in writing it.

Anyway, Marie a la Mode blog is interesting to me because of the wall of words (hehe) and her OOTDs. I especially love her "Where's Waldo" costume. Simple, but it works!

So pay a visit to Marie a la Mode, see whether you like it (I like it) and show your support by joining her giveaway here.

EcoTools and E.L.F Mineral Brush Set - Did I see double?

I'm waiting for my e.l.f. Mineral 5 Piece Bamboo Brush Set to arrive end of this month and just ordered EcoTools BAMBOO 5 Piece Brush Set. I noticed that,

e.l.f. Mineral 5 Piece Bamboo Brush Set I bought is very similar to EcoTools BAMBOO 6 Piece Brush Set

and

EcoTools BAMBOO 5 Piece Brush Set I bought is very similar to e.l.f. Mineral 4 Piece Bamboo Brush Set

I just noticed that moments ago, how slow is that?! =.=
Anyway, does that count as dupes? I think so.

I didn't own any EcoTools brushes right now, however from reviews, I could tell that both E.L.F. and EcoTools brushes are very similar in term of build, softness and function. Well, both made to be eco-friendly and for used with mineral makeup. I'm not much of a mineral makeup user, however I'm a sucker for soft brushes.

The Forgotten Haul

I almost forgot writing a blog post for this haul. I found the picture while rearranging picture in pendrive.
  • Compact W/ Mirror - I planned to use when I plan to purchase MAC single eyeshadows. But when I learned NYX single eyeshadow Black is blacker than MAC Carbon, I abandoned the plan and this compact is currently on sale in my sale blog.
  • Mechanical Eyelash Curler - I like how springy it is. I think I got the bad batch. The silicon pad doesn't fit snug that it keep fallen from the curler. The shape is a lil too curvy for my eyes. Daiso eyelash curler works better.
  • All Over Color Stick Golden Peach - It would be perfect as highlighter if it is not so frosty and the cream formulation makes me look like grease ball. Euw~
  • Eye Shadow Brush - A very good brush for packing on colors on lid.
  • Defining Eye Brush - Works great for the outer corner of my eyes.
  • Smudge Eye Sponge - the sponge is too hard that it tug the skin too much. Prefer smudge brush better.
  • Shine Eraser (not in picture) - Works just like any other oil blotter sheets. Daiso have alternatives with better value. Shine Eraser costs approx. RM 4 for 50 sheets. The Daiso version only costs me RM5 for 300 sheets.
  • Natural Radiance Blusher Glow - Pretty, but too frosty for my preference. Also on sale in my sale blog.
I made a video for this haul earlier. My opinion has changed a lot since I made this video.
