Went to a coursemate's wedding last weekend at Kampung Matang Baru. Since I'd stop wearing makeup daily, this is the chance to start putting my makeup and brushes to use.
I was planning to put on simple makeup, just enough to cover pimples and hyperpigmentation infesting my cheeks. So I did tried the makeup to see if it works the night before. It seems fine, so I repeat it for the day itself.
Having a nude lipstick is not only good for pairing with dark smokey eyes, it's also good to tone any lipstick that is too bright. Blush, bronzer and highlighter was barely there, just enough to counter the foundation that makes me look pale.
Grooming my brows like crazy, but it still looks the same. LOL. It's hard to find the balance between bushy and full brows. Furthermore, I'm not into cutting the brows.
The kebaya that serves me well for the past two years. Been wearing it to few weddings and hari rayas.

Long time no camwhoring!
It's been quite some time since I put this much of makeup.
The inspiration for the makeup look is from my bf. He complained that my 80s look is too weird, he said he don't mind thick makeup, but nothing too crazy. I say he just don't understand makeup XD
My cheeks looks pretty okay in this pic. Without makeup it's full of reddish acne stains/scars, so kudos to Stage Photo Pro foundation and concealer. While doing this look, I learn that, it is best to apply thin layers of concealer and foundation if high coverage needed. It looks more polished and it covers better.
Another thing, Wayne Goss is right! Apply the blusher not directly on the apple of the cheek, but closer to the cheekbone and blusher never look so good on me. And pat the powder on, don't just brush it on. gossmakeupartist is really a genius!
Below is the close up for the eye. I used ELF Nymph Dream Quad eyeshadow.
I like to do another look, an 80s look actually, but I have to start packing. My flight to KK is only few hours away and I haven't go to sleep yet. So yeah, no sleep tonight.

Pepper's Fuss Free Easy Daily Make Up - Lite Version
This is the lighter version of my "Pepper's Fuss Free Easy Daily Make Up". This is also the same look I used after I wiped off the Shu Uemura express makeover.
I can do this look in less than 10 minutes. A bit slower if I'm in a moving car.
I also skip doing my eyebrows since my eyebrow is quite ok already and the look is very light.
No contouring or highlighting since it will defeat the whole purpose of making it all light and easy.
I can do this look in less than 10 minutes. A bit slower if I'm in a moving car.
Stuffs used
- Ecotools Powder Brush - It's a travel size brush, so it fit the small makeup bag nicely.
- Biore Perfect Face Milk sunscreen - It double as makeup base.
- Stage Photo Pro Creme Camouflage Ginger - This concealer matched very well with my skintone. I can use this without needing to cover it with foundation.
- ELF Clarifying Pressed Powder Apricot Beige - Like the concealer, this powder matched my skin very well. I used this to set the concealer and to mattify my skin.
- Avon Simply Pretty Mascara - I choose this one as it fuss free and it's a wash-off mascara.
- Stage Wondergloss Fortuna - Coral-ly shade. Moisturising and fuss-free.
- Stage Eyeliner Teal Theater - I rub some to my finger tip and smudge it on my lid. So that would be my 'eyeshadow'. And then, I line my eyes as usual.

Pepper's Fuss Free Easy Daily Make Up
No, I'm not fixed with one look for my daily make up, but the one I'm sharing with you today is the fool-proof version. Tried and tested, is the confirmed way to brighten up my face.
The key to this look are
The key to this look are
- Base - my face have too much blemish, so concealing and medium to full coverage is a must. Long-wearing foundation preferable as I sweat a lot.
- Green eyeshadow and eyeliner - green really flatter brown eyes and colored eyeliner instantly brighten the eyes.
- Coral blusher and lipstick -warm shade such as coral suit my olive skin tone very well.
Start with clean, toned and moisturised face. You can see in the picture above how terrible my current skin condition, that's the aftermath from using Everyday Minerals base. My skin reacts badly causing clogged pores and ultimately endless pimples party. Now, pretty much all the pimples gone, but it left a lot of undesirable hyperpigmentation.
Ok, to start of, I apply Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF 50+ PA+++ sunscreen. This sunscreen is so awesome that it double as a make up base. I used Stage Photo Pro Creme Camouflage in Ginger to conceal dark circle and blemishes all over my face. For base, I use Revlon Colorstay in Golden Beige mixed with Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. This make the foundation easier to apply and blend. It also dilute the foundation, making it perfect for daily use.
Apply UDPP to the lid. UDPP is the only base the really works on my oily lid. I used green eyeshadow as it match very well with coral blusher and lipstick I'm using for this look. I used Stage Eye Liner in Teal Theater, using black eyeliner can be boring at times. Lastly, fuss free mascara from Avon.
Finish up the look with ELF Studio Blush in Candid Coral and Stage Wonderlust Lipstick in Sarah. The finished look. My skin more even and most blemishes concealed. More importantly, I didn't look pale or sick. When I went out to buy lunch bare faced, without any makeup, people will ask if I'm okay or I'm sick or not.
p/s: -SometimesMost of the time, I'm too lazy, so I used BB cream as base and skipping concealer and sunscreen.

FOTD: No Brushes (almost), No Foundation, Neutral Eyes and Red Lips
I was wondering, can I do a look without using brushes? Actually I can. The only brushes I used are the one from ELF Eyebrow Kit to fill in my brow and mascara wand.
Other than that, I apply concealer, eyeshadow, blusher, bronzer and highlighter using my fingers. Handy indeed (pun intended).
Pardon me, but I skip foundation for this look. There you go, all the blemishes on my face with all its glory.
Obviously, the eye makeup are very imprecise, but it would do if I'm in a pinch. You know like forget to bring brushes during travel or something.

NOTD: L.A. Colors Ruby Slippers & FOTD: E.L.F. Butternut
The past few days I've been really lazy for makeup. I'm too lazy to play with my eyeshadow that I always end up using only one color. No brainer right? Applied any color to the lid and blend up to the crease. Easy! Breaking the habit today, I used all 4 shades in E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color Butternut. But, I'm still too lazy to blend it properly. Am I having makeup withdrawal syndrome? Hell no! No way. You can take my handbags or my dresses (but please don't do that), never my makeup.

24 Dec 2010 FOTD and OOTD
Air Asia rescheduled my flight again. Instead of departure at 6.45pm, they reschedule back to 8.00pm. To be safe, I come to the airport early, you know, in case Air Asia change their mind again. So, I have lots of free time before departure, and since I'm stuck at the airport, I might as well enjoy a cup of Starbucks and take my time blogging.
I really like today FOTD despite not so good skin condition. I'm really happy to find that ELF Studio Blusher Mellow Mauve and ELF Essential Lipstick Gypsy are match made in heaven, they complement each other very well!
My hair won't fluff out as I want it to be. Maybe it's because the EMC hair mask last night weight my hair down, even after shampoo. Well, at least my hair is well moisturised. But, but, I want lion mane hair~
Sorry for the toilet background. I find that my faculty toilet have the best natural lighting for camera in the morning. Not exactly a eureka moment.
I need to show some love to my neglected quads, so today I used ELF Essential Brightening Eye Color in Blue Moon. I skip eyeliner today, too lazy to line my eyes.
Now, highlight of the day, ELF Essential Lipstick in Gypsy and ELF Essential Super Glossy Lip Shine in Pink Kiss on top. This combo last for a very long time. I reapply after lunch and it had been 6.5 hours, it still going strong.
LOL, I think how this edited pictures come out is kinda funny. My over-zealous picture-combining activity is actually a good thing! Outfit of the day consist of blue jacket and heels from Padini, RM15 no-brand jeans and RM10 t-shirt from Times Square. I don't I'm gonna do OOTD post again, I don't think this is my kind of stuff.

Travel Makeup Bag with FOTD and FOTN.
I always wanted to do a 'travel makeup bag' post, but I always forgot to take picture whenever I stay over at my friend's place. Today, finally I remembered to take some picture while packing.
Most important stuff to bring bring is my Clinique 3-step skin care system. Since the bottle are so big, I decant the cleanser and the moisturiser to 5g jars. This system seems to work for me, gonna do a review after I used it for 3 months.
Next is the makeup stuff. Since I'm only staying there from Saturday night till Monday morning, I try to bring as little as I can.
Face
Brushes - E.L.F. Studio Face Kabuki Brush, E.L.F. Studio Complexion Brush, E.L.F. Essential Eyeshadow and Blending Eye Brush, Every Minerals Eye Kabuki Brush. Non-branded concealer, eyeliner and spoolie brush.
Fit all brushes into my handmade brush roll. Kabuki, you're can't fit into the brush roll, so stay inside that case. (I sew this brush roll too!)

Not forgetting deodorant, Nature Republic Body Mist (this one is Coconut scent), Guardian Wet Wipes and hair velcro.
Now we're ready to go.

Pepper, did you leave anything behind?

My bra!
Face of the day done using whatever inside the bag.
Apply and BB cream using finger. The BB cream is lighter than my skin tone.
Set with face powder using kabuki brush. E.L.F. powder mattify the BB cream and the shade Rosy Beige, even tho a lil light for me, manage to look natural as long as I don't pile it up on my face.
Apply primer first. Use eyeshadow brush to apply dark green on the lid and blend using taupe/light brown with blending brush to the crease.

Apply few coats of mascara and comb eyebrows
Apply blusher to the apple of the cheeks
Slap on some gloss
Done! I like how it look natural and I could done this in 15 minutes if I need to rush. But I love taking my time to put on makeup.
At night, I used the same stuff, only added eye liner and I used all four colors in the Ivy quad.

I put on too much of the face powder that it look cakey especially around my eyes.
p/s: I wrote a lot of blog post the past few days, so I scheduled everything to be published one post for one day , publishing whatever written first. Actually this post written on 20th November 2010. Hehe.
Face
- Skin79 Hot Pink BB Cream - SPF25 and PA+++, nice coverage & it actually feels nice on my skin. Wish it could match my skin tone better
- E.L.F. Essential Clarifying Pressed Powder in Rosy Beige - a lil too light for me, but it still works. Good stuff!
- E.L.F. Mineral Blemish Kit - I'm testing it out, not sure whether it is working or not
- E.L.F. Studio Blusher Candid Coral - lovely
- E.L.F. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer - Great for $3. A must have.
- E.L.F. Studio Cream Eyeliner Black - Dried up in the jar, but still working great.
- E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color Ivy - One of my favourite!
- Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Very Black Mascara - I'm trying to finish it up. Gosh, I really don't like this mascara.
- E.L.F. Essential Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 Watermelon - moisturising and long lasting.
Not forgetting deodorant, Nature Republic Body Mist (this one is Coconut scent), Guardian Wet Wipes and hair velcro.
