Lancome L'absolu Creme de Brillance

For my mum birthday, I wanted to get something from a luxury brand, but I couldn't afford most of it. Luckily, there are stuffs from luxury brand that cost less than RM100.

I decided to get Lancome L'absolu Creme de Brillance after reading a positive review saying that it's more of a liquid lipstick than a gloss.

It's priced RM75 each and the shade I got for my mum is Rose Absolu (I think so).

Here are the swatches in different light condition. I gotta say, I'm really impressed with the texture and pigmentation of this product. I wish I can get one for myself, but the price is too expensive for my budget and I think Lancome is not cruelty-free. I'm not gonna get this for myself, but I gotta make an exception this time since I think my mum deserve something from luxury brand once in a while.
p/s: It's her birthday today! I didn't get the chance to personally give her this, but I passed it to my dad few days earlier when he was in Kuching. My dad bought my mum a handbag! My mum never have enough bags or shoes...like most of us. LOL.

Review and Swatch: L.A. Colors Twisty Lip Gloss Coral Cobbler

This lipgloss comes in a sturdy cute packaging. To use it, twist the bottom of the packaging until the lipgloss come out from the slanted applicator tip. Eventho I prefer slanted tip applicator most of the time, this one just not my favourite, it doesn't apply the lipgloss evenly right away. I think this is because of there's too much holes on the tip. The size is good tho.

The problem with the twist mechanism to get the product to tip is that it tend to twist out too much. Most of the time, I end up wiping the excess off, such a waste in long term. Sometimes, I found some lipgloss stick inside the cap. It could be I twisted the gloss accidentally inside my bag or something.

L.A. Colors website describes this lipgloss as "Hydrate and Volumize your lips with these bright, sheer colors! Leaves lips soft, hydrated & vibrant!". Well, I love the color of this lipgloss, especially when it looks great in picture. Sadly, I'm not fond of the smell and the stickiness. It's sticky, but not moisturising. Boo~ It's not hydrating, my $1 ELF lipgloss works much better than this one. This lipgloss last for few hours before it become unbearably drying and uncomfortable.

Another con of this lipgloss is the fact that everytime I want to put this on, I have exfoliate my lips, if not, it would exaggerate any part that dry. For me, lipgloss should be a quick fix to dry lips. Simply slap it on and problem solve.

Would I repurchase? No.
Would I recommend? No.

Review and Swatches: ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 (Candlelight, Honey Do, Mauve Luxe, Pink Kiss and Watermelon)

Everybody have their own preferences when it come to lipgloss. Some would like it to be thick and sticky, while others might want it light and non-tacky. Some like it with scent, others might not. I like my lipgloss to be scent-less, moisturising, tinted, a bit thick and somewhat sticky. ELF Super Glossy Lip Shine are everything I want it to be except for the strong scent. I like how it taste tho. Hehe.

This product come in squeeze tube topped with slanted plastick applicator. The applicator need some getting used to, after that, it work great. I like the applicator since it is much easier to clean it up compared to sponge tip. To apply above lipstick, you might want to use lip brush. I think the packaging is very practical with no nonsense.

This glosses are smooth and easy to apply. I love how glossy and moisturing this glosses are. It improved my dry lips condition the first time I put it on. I only reapply it after meal, if not, it could last all day long. I not really fond of the smell but I can stand it since I love this glosses too much.

There are 10g product in the tube and that's a steal considering it was priced $1. I love it so much that I bought more for my mum and my sisters. They seems to love it too. I found out that the batch of this glosses no longer comes with SPF 15, boo~

From top to bottom:
Watermelon, Pink Kiss, Mauve Luxe, Honey Do and Candlelight.

  • Honey Do is very lightly tinted, so it's more to clear lipgloss.
  • Pink Kiss (light pink) and Candlelight are sheer nude color. I love using Pink Kiss with smokey eyes.
  • Watermelon is watermelon red, I used this one almost everyday lately since it's perfect for everyday use.
  • Mauve Luxe is so pigmented that it looks like I'm using lipstick instead of lip gloss.
Would I repurchase? Hell yes! Actually I just repurchased Pink Kiss, Mauve Luxe and Watermelon. I'm gonna try other shades in the future.
Would I recommend it? If you like moisturising, tinted, a bit thick and somewhat sticky lipglosses. Yeah.
