Review: The Max Bold Curves Marcara by RIMMEL

Product Description:
Be bold. Be beautiful, with lashes that boast exponential volume and lift … instantly! Giving you the most incredible curves… Rimmel introduces The Max Bold Curves Mascara with its biggest curvaceous brush ever! The lashes are pumped up and lifted to new heights: up to 70% more lift and up to 14 times more volume.

The proprietary formula, enriched with collagen and keratin is paired with Rimmel's most curvaceous brush ever. Together they take lashes to stunning new extremes of volume and curve. Lashes are BIG, fat, boldly lifted – and completely free of clumps, of course.

The Max mascara packaging is reinterpreted in eye-catching green with pink printing for The Max Bold Curves Mascara. Like a magic wand that works eye-opening wonders in a few strokes.

The bright green and pink packaging reminds me a lot of Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline. However, the product performance is way~ better than Great Lash. The packaging is typical tube of mascara, nothing fancy except for the bright green tube and neon pink print. There are 8ml of product inside and its suggested retail price is RM35.90.
The brush is typical bristles and curved wands. The wand of this mascara did a great job separating and lifting lashes. The formula is non-waterproof and drier compared to most of the mascaras I tried before. Because it is non-waterproof, it is easy to clean up smudges and easy to remove, you don't need oil based makeup remover. It would be a nightmare tho if end up caught in a rainy weather.

Even tho this is a volumizing mascara, it takes about 3 - 4 layers because you can see much volumizing. But the lashes lifted significantly, even without using eyelash curler.

(Left: With mascara; Right: Without mascara)

I think this mascara did good job on making my lash look fluttery and fuller. As you can see in the pic, my lashes with mascara looks more obvious and the curl is quite high. I love the wispy ends, but this usually gone if more that 3 coats applied.
Funny enough, this mascara did better job lengthening than volumizing. I think this mascara can be improve by making it more volumizing and waterproof version will be very much appreciated.

All that is purple-ish: Item 4 - Avon Simply Pretty Long Lash Waterproof Mascara

Like UDPP, the packaging is dark purple, so it counts for the Purple Series.

My go to mascara when I need to be fast as it is fuss free. It lashes evenly without clumping. It coat lashes with wispy end...very nice. Not much on holding curl or volumizing, but I'm contented with how elongating it is. It's really waterproof. Easily removed using facial cleanser

Fraken-Wand and NOTD

Have I told you how crappy Maybelline Great Lash Mascara wand is? Very! It's tiny and it make your lashes clumps together. Eventho it is tiny, it's not that good for applying mascara on your lower lashes. I don't like it at all. So last nite, I found my old ancient tube of Avon mascara, I can't remember which one and it doesn't help that the mascara name faded from the tube. The Avon mascara wand is one of my favourite, nothing special, just that it works. So I clean it up and plan to use it to replace the Great Lash wand. The cap is too small for the mascara tube, time for major operation. So what it I did was, cutting the Great Lash wand of the cap and taped the Avon wand brush to it. Ta-da~

The Face Shop BR804
I love the length of my nails right, but it's too dangerous to keep that kind of length for long since I tend to hurt myself. Yes, I did scratched my necks, shoulder, legs and arms when my nails is too long.

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Very Black, the mascara I love to hate!

I hate this mascara so much, that at one point I ignore it for quite sometime. But that is only until I learn how to make this nasty stuff work for me. The main reason I bought this mascara because of it's dirt cheap price, RM17 per tube of 12ml in LYN. Furthermore, this mascara is not available in Malaysia and the original version is highly rave by a lot of beauty editor. So I am highly curious.

The original of this mascara is non waterproof with green cap instead of black. I'm so glad that I didn't bought that one as from reviews I read and from Youtube videos I watch, I conclude that the original version is far worst than the one I have. The brush for this mascara is slightly smaller when compared to E.L.F. Essential Regular and Waterproof Mascara Duo, so it works well for lower lashes.

The main reason why I hate this mascara is that it is so hard to remove! When I first bought it, all of my waterproof mascara easily removed using Body Shop Vit E facial cleanser, but not this Great Lash. The only thing that can remove it completely is Maybelline Eyes & Lips Make-up remover.
Despite the name Great Lash, there's nothing great about the mascara except for the price. Even though it is waterproof, it tends to smudge and clumps badly. Even if it does lengthen lashes, but it does it very ugly way. The end of the lashes tend to droop and it looks weird. This mascara doesn't really hold up curl well.

Since this mascara is in the my 10 pan project list, I'm still gonna finish it up. However, I'll never repurchase it and I wouldn't recommend this mascara to anyone.

Review ELF Essential Regular and Waterproof Mascara Duo

I gotta say, I heart this mascara to the max! For $1 mascara to be this good, I'm a very satisfied customer. It comes with considerably small tube with each end contains regular or waterproof mascara. I've been using this tube since mid-August almost everyday, so I guess despite the small tubes, there's quite an amount of mascara inside it.

The mascara brush is small, which is good as it coat every lashes nicely. The brush also makes it easier to apply mascara on my lower lashes. One funny thing about this mascara is that, at times, even after few hours, this mascara feels sticky, and when I applied to my lower lashes too, my upper and lower lashes and the corner of my eyes would stick together. It doesn't really bug me anyway.

This humble $1 mascara does a real good job at lengthening lashes. It also hold curl nicely. For this review, I apply few coats of the regular mascara and a coat of the waterproof mascara without using eyelash curler prior or after application.

Aside from good lengthening and curling effects, this mascara hardly smudge even in humid weather. However, it's not completely waterproof as it easily flakes if it get wet. Removal is easy, you only need to wash it with facial cleanser, rub a lil to work the cleanser into the mascara and it removed in clumps. Wet wipes is enough to remove most of the mascara.

I can tell you that I'll definitely recommend this friends. Actually, I bought this for my mom and my sisters, and I'm pretty sure they like it. I love this mascara so much that I'd placed order for 6 of this babies. For the price, this mascara get 5/5.

p/s: with a small tube like, for sure I'll be able to finish up the mascara within 3 months. Hooray!
